Our Life in Real Time

Me: Put your bedding away.
Keira: No.
Me: Good Back Talk. Do it anyway.
Keira comes around the corner, comes to a dead stop and just says “Trust Me”
Then took off.
Right. Like I’m not going to leap from my chair for that one.
Keira’s new thing is “‘Say Yes’ you can have an apple.”
It’s not ‘Yes’ any longer, it’s ‘Say Yes’
She still tells us what we’re supposed to say lol
First day wearing a bra – no big deal.
I said Mama wears a bra, Riley wears a bra, Nana wears a bra, now Keira is a big girl and Keira gets to wear a bra.
She put it on and she’s worn it all day, no problems.
Tim walks through the front door.
Keira looks at In Home Support: “Bye Bye. You can go home now. See you later. Have a good night.”
I have removed rollerblades from the bathroom no fewer than five times today. BECAUSE she can Wipe Her Butt with Rollerblades on but apparently etiquette dictates that she remove them off before washing her hands.
You have to love Keira – she’s always up for an adventure.
You can say: Keira, let’s go for a walk.
Let’s go to the store.
Let’s go.
She just runs and gets her shoes.
Keira is always ready to go.
Drops everything and she’s ready.
Me: Coco Peanut Butter Puffs or Apple Jacks?
Keira: Or Salad. I want salad please.
Me: Sure kid. Why not. Vegetables are ummy breakfast foods.
Keira’s hand is almost back to normal size!
Just ordered Keira a Manual Treadmill.
Sure I’ll find 5 for free now – always happens.
Phone Calls from In Home Support.
IHS: So I am required to inform you as soon as possible that we’re all ok, but a truck in front of us hit a pole and a power line fell on the jeep on our way to the activity. We’re all ok. Keira’s fine. I’m fine. The jeep is fine. Everything is fine.
Keira decided, all on her own, that it was time to swim.
She got her swimsuit on, came out to the living room demanding sunscreen, then marched out to the pool to the surprise of her father who is no longer napping in the hammock. lol
Me: Put your bedding away and plug in your phone.
Keira: No.
WHAT? When did she learn to back talk?
Keira: Time to swim. Swimsuit on.
Me: It’s Raining.
Keira: Hurry.
WHAT?
Tim: Keira, go put your stuff somewhere.
5 seconds later
Me: Keira, Daddy telling you to put stuff away does Not mean hand it to Mommy.
Keira: 5 Oreos
Me: 2 Oreos.
Keira: Salad.
Me: That’s not counter offer!!
10am Keira refuses to get out of bed.
Me: I’m going to open the pool.
Keira has swimsuit on before I get back in the house.
