When I was around 10 years old I was trying to open a jar of something, Sister Richardson took the jar and said “let me show you a trick.” She hit the lid of the jar several times with the handle of a knife, then she twisted the lid and it easily popped off.
She handed me the jar and said “That trick an old lady taught me and now an old lady has taught it to you. When you are an old lady you will teach someone else and tell them this story.”
I’m FAR from being an old lady, but today Riley took a new jar of jam for the fridge and couldn’t get it open ……….
