Anyone good with tools?

Anyone good with tools?
Each of the girls has a bunk from the bunk beds in there room and last night my husband sat on the end of one and went through it.
I’d like to fix it before he gets home, any idea how?
I have wood, screws, power drill, and jigsaw.
(My husband is 6 foot 200 lbs, not a big guy, but broad shoulders solid type.)
