I just realized we’re taking the wrong approach to Keira’s learning.
They are teaching her to cut with scissors before they teach her right from wrong or in this case, what she can and cannot cut. Today she tried to cut the power cord to the fan while it was running.
They are teaching her the write before they teach her what she can and cannot put in her mouth. She eats crayons and colored pencils.
It’s the wrong order.
Just like Keira learned to spell before she could communicate. They are using her gifts to try to teach her how to communicate, when I think we need to forget about her gifts and use how children learn normally.
Keira has to learn how to communicate first, understand the words that are spoken to her and come back with answers. We’ve been putting the cart before the house.
