How people start drama in your life. Actual Content – it happens!
I attempt to avoid drama at all costs, but there are those people, those you can’t get away from who just drag you in, here’s how.
You say something to someone, post something somewhere, vent a little frustration in the way of a friend looking for support. Friends take their queue and start to show this support – but then there is that one person who knows exactly how you should run your life, raise your children, straighten out your marriage, spend your money, where you should live and she’s not giving you advice, she’s telling you what to do. There is a difference between giving a advice and telling people what to do. One you give and walk away, the other you try to force down someone’s throat and shame them into it.
So now that person has told you what to do, usually using all CAPs, they don’t have all the facts, but they have all the answers.
When you pointing out that they don’t have all the facts, they demand to hear all the facts. And in that one second, trying to be polite or trying to stay calm or trying to avoid larger issues or trying to just keep them out of your hair, you attempt to calmly explain to them why they don’t have a clue without actually saying YOU DON’T HAVE A CLUE.
This is where assumption and implied meaning come in. These are 2 things I have never been able to grasp. I’m a black and white person, it’s either 0 or 1, hot or cold, yes or no. I don’t understand the ‘say one thing, but means another, assume she is saying that‘ that every other woman on the planet seems to understand – BUT ME!
You tell it like it is being as calm as you possibly can, but here is the problem, you’re justifying why you’re not doing what you’re told, by a person who doesn’t have all the facts and they don’t want to hear that. They just want you to do what you’re told because it makes them feel a little better, because they are so much better than you.
They take what you “meant” and not what you “said” and decide to spread it around a little, getting everyone else’s opinion and at the same time enrage everyone because you are not doing what they told you to do, because lets remember they are so much better than you and they know far more than you about everything.
Now there are some people out there who have REAL drama in their lives. Parents they have lost recently, family members they are taking care of, illnesses they are dealing with, REAL issues, and they don’t need to hear about the petty reasons you are giving the drama queen to get the drama queen off your back!
Those people I avoid like the plague so I don’t say something stupid and make their suffering worse. But now the drama queen, working off a little frustration of her own, has now brought a person who is truly suffering into the mix, explained to that poor person what you ‘really meant’ and not what you actually ‘said’. They talk it to death, enraging each other and agree to lambaste the target of all their frustration, hurt and pain. Because that has to be ME! If I had simply done what I was told, no matter what the consequences to my family, children, safety, or anything else – THEY wouldn’t be suffering as they are now from their completely unrelated issues.
