Trying to figure this out.
It takes 40 seconds to microwave Keira’s lunch.
That’s 2 hours a year.
The school refuses to microwave Keira’s lunch, because
1. the fuses in the building blow [unlikely according to the Fire Department]
2. if they do it for one child in the district they must do it for all the children in the district.
Other schools in the district do microwave children’s meals. But instead of microwaving Keira’s meal, which I am more than happy to provide to avoid any kind of cross contamination and saving a huge expense for the school district, they are willing to have yet another meeting to figure out how they can provide 1 child who is G/D Free with a hot meal at the cost of the normal hot lunch that the school provides.
I wonder how many hours have been spent coming up with reasons to avoid microwaving 1 child’s meal which her mother is more than willing to provide – I’d love the total cost of those hours, not to mention the additional cost to the school/district for actually providing the meal.
